【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 유보통합 추진 일환으로 운영 중인 '거점형 돌봄기관 운영 사업'에 대해 현장 점검을 실시했다고 4일 밝혔다.
거점형 돌봄기관은 유치원이나 어린이집 중 한 곳을 거점으로 지정해 인근 기관 유아들까지 돌보는 시범 사업이다. 돌봄 사각지대 해소와 유보통합 실현을 위한 맞춤형 돌봄 모델 발굴이 목적이다.
경북교육청은 지난 6월 유치원과 어린이집 각 10곳을 대상으로 운영계획을 공모해 외부 전문가 심사를 거쳐 경산중앙유치원을 거점기관으로 선정했다.
현재 경산중앙유치원은 중방유치원, 코아루어린이집, 이안숲어린이집 등과 협력해 아침과 저녁 출퇴근 시간대 돌봄 서비스를 제공한다. 유아들은 놀이와 학습, 휴식이 어우러진 환경에서 정서적 안정을 경험하고, 부모들은 안심하고 돌봄 서비스를 이용할 수 있다.
이번 점검에서는 돌봄 운영 현황과 참여 유아 수, 교직원 지원 체계, 예산 집행, 보완 사항을 중점 살폈다. 체계적인 돌봄 모델 정착을 위한 개선 방향도 논의했다.
거점기관 담당 교사는 "여러 기관 유아들이 함께 참여하면서 운영 범위가 넓어지고 있다"며 "다양한 수요에 맞는 돌봄 모델이 현장에 안착하도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
임종식 교육감은 "경북형 돌봄 모델의 가능성과 과제를 확인하는 계기였다"며 "한 아이도 소외되지 않는 따뜻한 돌봄 환경을 만들기 위해 유보통합을 차근차근 준비하겠다"고 강조했다.
