14일 현재 포항시 남,북구 주요도로변에는 정치인들의 치적 홍보를 위한 현수막과 함께  ‘포항지진범시민대책본부’명의의 현수막 등이 무분별하게 걸려있다.

이에 가뜩이나 불법현수막이 넘쳐 나면서 단속에 어려움을 겪고있는 공무원들의 더욱 업무가 가중되고 있다는 지적이다.

신고를 받은 포항시는 13일 부터 인력을 동원해 정비에 나섰지만 워낙 범위가 넓어 어려움을 겪고있다. 

시민들 사이에는 차기 지방선거에 출마가 예상되는 모성은 의장의 인지도 제고를 위해 불법도 불사한다는 비판이 나오고 있다.

포항시 북구청 관계자는 “지난 13일 불법 현수막 신고가 접수돼 정비(철거)를 벌이고 있지만 2명의 인력으로 작업을 하다 보니 늦어지고 있다”고 말했다. “계도 또는 과태료 부과등에 대해서도 검토 중”이라고 밝혔다.

남구청도 14일, 오전 더불어민주당 측으로 부터 신고를 접수받고 철거에 나섰다. 남구 역시 2명의 인력으로 작업을 하다보니 오후 늦게쯤 작업이 마무리 될 것으로 예상했다. 다만 "과태료 부과는 하지않고 계도할 계획"이라고 덧붙였다.

Pohang City, upon receiving the report, mobilized personnel on the 13th to begin cleanup efforts, but the sheer scale of the area is making it difficult.

There's criticism among citizens that Mo Seong, who is expected to run in the next local elections, is resorting to illegal means to raise the profile of the Speaker.

A Pohang city official stated, "We received a report of illegal banners on the 13th and are currently working on removing them. However, with only two crews, the work is being delayed." They added, "We are also considering providing guidance or imposing fines."
