【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 달서구(구청장 이태훈)가 ‘글로벌 청소년 한국전통문화체험’을 성공적으로 마무리했다고 2일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 지난달 21일과 27일 병암서원에서 경원고-네팔 LRI School, 송현여고-일본 호세이대학 국제고 학생을 대상으로 진행됐다.
달서구는 2006년부터 관내 초·중·고등학교와 해외 자매결연 학교의 교류 방문 시 전통문화를 체험할 수 있는 프로그램을 운영해 왔다.
올해는 4월 상서고-태국 퐁사와디 기술학교, 대건고-미국 뉴욕 프랩고 교류를 시작으로, 8월 경원고-네팔 LRI School과 송현여고-일본 호세이대학 국제고까지 총 5개국 약 80명의 국내외 청소년이 참여하며 교류 규모가 확대됐다.
체험 프로그램은 ▲한복 및 예절 배우기 ▲전통놀이(윷놀이, 딱지치기, 양궁 등) ▲민화 부채 그리기 등으로 구성됐다.
특히 양궁이 새롭게 추가돼 선택 폭을 넓혔으며, 참가 학생들은 한복 착용 체험을 가장 인상 깊게 꼽았다. 전통놀이와 민화 체험 또한 색다른 경험으로 호평을 받았다.
이태훈 달서구청장은 “해외 청소년들이 한국의 전통문화를 직접 경험하며 한국을 더 깊이 이해하고, 소중한 인연을 이어가길 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 청소년 국제교류를 확대해 달서구가 글로벌 문화외교의 중심으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Since 2006, Dalseo-gu has operated a program that allows students from its elementary, middle, and high schools to experience traditional culture during exchange visits with overseas sister schools.
This year, the program expanded, beginning with exchanges between Sangseo High School and Thailand's Phongsawadee Technical School in April and Daegeon High School and New York Prep High School in the United States in August. The program expanded to include exchanges between Gyeongwon High School and Nepal LRI School, and Songhyun Girls' High School and Hosei University International High School in Japan, with a total of approximately 80 youth from five countries participating.
The experiential program included learning about hanbok and etiquette, playing traditional games (Yutnori, Ttakjichigi, archery, etc.), and drawing folk fan paintings.
The addition of archery broadened the range of activities, and participants cited the experience of wearing hanbok as their most memorable experience. Traditional games and folk painting were also well-received as unique experiences.
Dalseo-gu Mayor Lee Tae-hoon stated, "I hope that international youth will experience Korean traditional culture firsthand, deepen their understanding of Korea, and build valuable relationships. We will continue to expand international youth exchanges and do our best to establish Dalseo-gu as a hub for global cultural diplomacy."
