【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구(구청장 조재구)는 ‘전국 대학생 인공지능 활용 아이디어 경진대회’를 성황리에 마무리했다고 8일 밝혔다.
지난 5일 대덕문화전당에서 열린 대회는 대학생들에게는 AI 기반 창의 아이디어를 발표할 기회를, 남구 학생들에게는 인공지능에 대한 호기심을 충족할 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
대상은 미국 산호세주립대 조성우 학생과 동국대 은하윤 학생이 결성한 ‘친구하자’ 팀이 차지했다.
이 팀은 고령층의 관심사를 분석해 적절한 대화 상대를 찾아주는 스마트폰 애플리케이션을 선보였다. 해당 앱은 정서적 고립을 완화하는 동시에 대화를 분석해 치매·우울증 등 질환을 조기 발견할 수 있다는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
최우수상은 영남이공대 박지호 학생의 ‘셰르파’ 팀에 돌아갔다. 이 팀은 게임을 통해 학생들이 자기계발을 즐겁게 할 수 있도록 돕고, AI의 피드백을 통해 목표 달성에 필요한 조언을 제공하는 애플리케이션을 소개했다.
이 밖에도 AI 토론을 통해 비판적 사고력을 기르는 거꾸로 교실을 제안한 ‘RevAI’팀(경북대 이수민), 챗봇 기반 글쓰기 재미를 키우는 ‘쓰임에듀’팀(원광대 이명재), 생성형 AI를 활용해 전통문화유산을 바탕으로 새로운 신화를 만드는 ‘링크버스 랩’팀(서울대 김단) 등이 우수상을 수상했다.
조재구 남구청장은 “단순한 발상에 그치지 않고 현장 적용이 가능한 훌륭한 아이디어가 많이 나와 기쁘다”며 “지방자치단체 최초로 AI 실연 경진대회를 개최한 만큼, 이번 대회가 학생들에게 영감을 주고 미래를 선도하는 인재로 성장하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Other winners of the Excellence Award included the "RevAI" team (Lee Su-min, Kyungpook National University), which proposed a flipped classroom that fosters critical thinking skills through AI discussions; the "SseumEdu" team (Lee Myeong-jae, Wonkwang University), which fosters the enjoyment of chatbot-based writing; and the "Linkbus Lab" team (Kim Dan, Seoul National University), which uses generative AI to create new myths based on traditional cultural heritage.
Nam-gu District Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, "I am delighted to see so many excellent ideas that go beyond mere ideas and are applicable to real-world applications. As the first local government to host an AI demonstration competition, I hope this competition will inspire students and serve as an opportunity for them to grow into leaders of the future."
