【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시가 자살예방사업에서 6년 연속 전국 최우수 지자체로 인정받았다고 15일 밝혔다.
대구시는 지난 10일 서울 더플라자호텐에서 열린 '2025년 자살예방의 날' 기념식에서 자살예방사업 우수지자체 보건복지부장관상을 수상했다.
2020년부터 올해까지 자살예방계획과 추진실적 평가에서 연속 우수지자체로 선정된 성과다.
대구시는 2016년 대구광역자살예방센터 개소와 함께 체계적인 자살예방 정책을 펼쳐왔다. 24시간 상담체계부터 물리적 차단까지 다층적 접근이 특징이다.
핵심 사업은 상담전화 109와 24시간 정신상담전화 1577-0199 운영이다. 여기에 번개탄과 농약 판매 제한, 교량 안전조치 등 자살 수단 차단과 다빈도 장소 관리를 강화했다.
정신건강 위기 대응도 체계화했다. 재난 후 심리회복 지원과 고위험군 치료비 지원, 24시간 정신응급 입원병상 운영으로 즉각 대응체계를 마련했다. 온라인상에서는 '대구지켜줌人' 시스템으로 자살 유해정보를 차단하고 있다.
지역사회 참여 확대에도 힘썼다. 생명지킴이 교육을 확대하고 자살유족에게는 원스톱 서비스를 제공한다. 정책 연구 강화와 거버넌스 구축으로 전문성도 높였다.
특히 올해 4월부터는 전문기관과 단체, 분야별 전문가가 참여하는 정책추진 거버넌스를 8회에 걸쳐 구축했다.
오는 30일에는 '대구 정신건강·자살예방 대책 마련 정책간담회 및 생명지킴이 선포식'을 개최할 예정이다.
김정기 대구시장 권한대행은 "지역사회와 유관기관, 전문가와 함께 맞춤형 자살예방 정책을 추진하고 있다"며 "시민들도 생명지킴이 활동에 참여해 자살로부터 안전한 대구를 함께 만들어 나가길 바란다"고 말했다.
