[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 18일 뉴질랜드 웰링턴시청과 빅토리아대학교를 방문해 정원 분야 국제교류를 논의하고, 빅토리아대와 협력의향서(LOI)를 체결했다고 밝혔다.
정원문화도시 국제협력단은 웰링턴시청에서 양 도시의 정원문화 정책과 녹색도시 조성 사례를 공유하며 향후 협력 방향을 심도 있게 검토했다.
시는 이번 만남을 통해 지속가능한 정원도시 구축이라는 공통 비전을 확인하고 국제정책 교류의 토대를 마련했다.
웰링턴시는 기후변화 대응을 핵심 가치로 삼아 사람과 자연이 공존하는 도시환경 조성 정책을 적극 추진하고 있다.
진주시는 정원산업박람회 운영 경험과 정원문화도시 정책을 소개하며 실질적 협력 가능성을 논의했다.
