이번 평가는 농촌진흥사업 전반을 대상으로 기술보급 기반 확대 노력도, 현장 애로 해소를 위한 신기술 확산 실적, 농작업 안전재해 예방 실천 실적 등 총 9개 평가지표를 종합적으로 심사해 우수 기관과 팀을 선정했다.
울진군농업기술센터는 노동력 부족과 기후변화 등 급변하는 농업환경에 대응해 추진해 온 ‘울진농업 대전환’ 정책이 현장 중심의 실질적인 성과를 창출한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
울진군은 그동안 ▲들녘특구 시범단지 조성 ▲표고버섯 재배단지 조성 ▲조직배양실 신축 ▲양파 디지털 생산기반 구축 등 스마트 농업기술 도입을 통해 농업 경쟁력 강화에 힘써왔다.
또한 청년농업인 드론 병해충 방제단 운영을 통해 청년 농업인의 안정적인 영농 정착을 지원하고, 특산자원 가공상품 디자인 개발과 농촌교육농장 팜파티 운영 지원 등 가공·관광산업과 연계한 농촌 융·복합산업 활성화에도 주력해 왔다.
특히 최우수팀으로 선정된 식량작물팀은 평해읍 월송들 일원에 150ha 규모의 이모작 기계화 영농단지를 조성해 벼 단작 대비 경지 이용률과 농업 소득을 각각 200%까지 끌어올리는 성과를 거뒀다.
손용원 울진군농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 우수기관과 최우수팀 동시 수상은 농업인과 직원들이 함께 만들어 낸 울진농업 대전환의 결실”이라며 “앞으로도 변화하는 농업환경에 선제적으로 대응해 지속가능한 울진 농업 발전에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
