“추위 녹이는 청년들의 손길”... 의정부 고산동 빼벌마을에 연탄 1,000장 전달

<브레이크뉴스 의정부=이용하 기자>의정부시 고산동의 소외된 이웃들을 위해 지역 청년들이 팔을 걷어붙였다.

고산동주민센터는 지난 10일, 서울 중랑구 소재 한길교회 청년부와 중·고등부 학생 20여 명이 참여해 고산동 빼벌마을 내 에너지 취약계층 4가구에 연탄 1,000장을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 나눔 활동은 고산제일교회와 한길교회가 공동으로 기획한 사회공헌 활동의 일환으로 마련됐다. 이날 봉사에 참여한 청년들은 추운 날씨 속에서도 가구마다 연탄을 직접 배달하며 땀방울을 흘렸으며, 홀로 거주하는 어르신들의 안부를 살피는 등 이웃 사랑을 실천했다.

봉사에 참여한 윤성연 청년부 회장은 “겨울철 추위로 어려움을 겪는 빼벌마을 이웃들에게 조금이나마 보탬이 되고자 청소년들과 함께 힘을 모았다”며, “어르신들이 밝게 웃으며 맞아주셔서 오히려 더 큰 보람을 느꼈고, 앞으로도 지속적인 봉사를 이어갈 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

이봉득 고산동장은 “추운 날씨에도 불구하고 멀리서 찾아와 구슬땀을 흘려준 청년 봉사자들에게 진심으로 감사드린다”며, “주민센터에서도 민관 협력을 더욱 공고히 하여 복지 사각지대 없는 촘촘한 지역 복지 서비스를 제공하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 화답했다.
