<브레이크뉴스 포천=이용하 기자> 포천시가 봄철 소각으로 인한 산불 위험을 차단하고 쾌적한 농촌 환경을 조성하기 위해 영농 부산물 처리 지원에 나선다.
21일 포천시는 오는 2월부터 불법 소각을 방지하고 미세먼지 발생을 줄이기 위한 ‘찾아가는 영농 부산물 파쇄지원단’을 본격 운영한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 농경지에서 발생하는 고춧대, 들깻대 등의 부산물을 현장에서 직접 파쇄해 퇴비로 활용하도록 돕는 사업이다. 파쇄 작업은 오는 2월 2일부터 3월 20일까지 순차적으로 진행될 예정이다.
신청 대상은 농업경영체 자격을 유지하고 있는 농업인으로, 오는 2월 20일까지 농경지 소재 읍·면·동 행정복지센터를 방문해 신청하면 된다. 직접 방문이 어려운 고령 농업인 등을 위해 가족이나 이·통장을 통한 대리 신청도 허용된다.
지원 가능한 부산물은 고춧대와 들깻대 등 일반 작목이며, 농가당 최대 4,950㎡(1,500평)까지 무상 지원한다.
다만, 과수 전정가지(사과·포도 등)나 덩굴성 작물(고구마·땅콩 등)은 기계 고장 우려로 지원 대상에서 제외된다.
지원 대상이 아니거나 면적을 초과하는 경우에는 농업기술센터에서 파쇄기를 임대해 자체 처리해야 한다. 단, 마을 단위 공동 작업을 위해 마을 대표가 임대를 요청할 경우 파쇄기를 무상으로 빌릴 수 있다.
포천시 관계자는 “봄철은 산불 위험이 매우 높은 시기인 만큼, 소중한 산림 자원을 보호하기 위해 불법 소각 대신 시의 무료 파쇄 지원 사업을 적극 활용해 달라”고 당부했다.
한편, 포천시는 산불 취약 기간 동안 감시원 운영을 강화하는 등 현장 중심의 예방 활동을 지속해 나갈 방침이다.
