브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 여행 유튜버 겸 방송인 곽튜브(본명 곽준빈)이 최근 불거진 산후조리원 협찬 논란에 대해 사과했다.
곽튜브는 10일 자신의 유튜브 채널을 통해 입장문을 게재하며 “최근 저의 산후조리원 이용과 관련해 불거진 논란으로 심려를 끼쳐 마음이 무겁다”며 말문을 열었다.
최근 곽튜브는 자신의 SNS(사회관계망서비스)에 산후조리원 사진과 함께 ‘협찬’ 문구를 표기했다. 하지만 일각에서는 곽튜브의 아내가 현직 공무원인 만큼 청탁금지법(김영란법) 위반 소지가 있다는 의혹을 제기해 논란을 빚었다.
곽튜브는 “배우자의 출산 이후 조리원 측으로부터 호실 업그레이드와 일부 서비스를 협찬받게 됐다. 당시 SNS를 통해 협찬 사실을 알렸으나, 상세한 범위에 대해 오해를 불러일으킬 수 있다는 점을 뒤늦게 인지하고 내용을 수정하기도 했다”고 전했다.
이어 “배우자가 공무원 신분인 만큼 논란이 제기된 이후 법률 자문을 구했고, 해당 협찬이 저와 조리원 사이의 사적 계약이며, 배우자의 직무와도 연관성이 없다는 점을 확인했다”며 “하지만 이유를 불문하고 공직자의 가족으로서 더욱 신중하게 행동했어야 함을 뼈저리게 느끼고 있다. 향후 절차적으로 필요한 부분이 있다면 성실히 소명하겠다”고 밝혔다.
또 “이번 일을 겪으며 제 자신과 주변을 다시금 돌아보게 됐다. 부족했던 저의 배려심을 반성하며, 예전부터 마음에 담아 두고 있었던 미혼모분들을 위한 지원에 3000만원을 기부하고자 한다. 산후조리원 측에도 협찬 받은 차액을 전액 지불한 상태”라고 말했다.
마지막으로 곽튜브는 “앞으로는 법적 기준뿐만 아니라 사회적 책임에 대해서도 더 깊이 고민하고 실천하는 사람이 되겠다. 다시 한 번 불편함을 느끼셨을 모든 분들께 머리 숙여 사과드린다”고 덧붙였다.
