브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= bhc치킨이 운영하는 대학생 봉사 단체인 ‘해바라기 봉사단’이 지난 23일 해외 저소득층 아동을 위한 컬러링북 키트 제작에 참여했다.
해바라기 봉사단 6기 2조는 서울 마포구 일대에서 캄보디아 저소득층 어린이들의 교육에 필요한 컬러링북 키트를 비대면으로 제작해 서울 은평구 연서로에 위치한 사단법인 세상아이에 전달했다.
이번 봉사활동은 빈부격차로 인해 정규교육을 받지 못하는 캄보디아 저소득층 아동들에게 교육 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 봉사단원들은 다양한 색의 실을 이용하여 동물, 나무, 꽃 그림 도안 위에 바느질을 하고 색연필을 이용해 표지를 꾸며 컬러링북을 만들었다. 완성된 컬러링북은 사단법인 세상아이를 통해 봉사단원들이 직접 구입한 크레파스, 방역 마스크와 함께 캄보디아 학교와 아동복지시설에 마련된 작은 도서관으로 전달되어 저소득층 아동들을 위한 교육자료로 활용될 예정이다.
bhc치킨 관계자는 “국내뿐만 아니라 해외에도 빈부격차로 인해 교육을 받지 못하는 아동들이 많다”며 “아동들의 교육받을 권리는 당연하게 보장돼야 하는 부분이라는 인식이 이번 해바라기 봉사단의 봉사를 통해 많은 사람들에게 고취되길 바란다”고 말했다.
한편, 해바라기 봉사단은 현재 6기가 활동 중이며, 2017년 발족돼 적극적인 봉사 기획과 활동 진행을 통해 나눔과 상생의 의미를 널리 알리고 있는 대학생 봉사단체이다. 해바라기 봉사단 6기는 ‘배리어 프리’ 지도 만들기, 대안학교 급식 봉사를 시작으로 두 조가 매월 1회씩 봉사를 이어오고 있다.
