브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 쿠팡이 단일 물류시설 기준 국내 최대 규모인 대구 첨단물류센터(대구FC)를 준공하고, 기념행사를 개최했다.
쿠팡은 24일 오후 대구광역시 달성군 대구국가산업단지에서 권영진 대구시장과 쿠팡 박대준 신사업부문 대표이 참석한 가운데, 쿠팡 대구FC 준공식을 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 장상수 대구시의회의장, 김문오 달성군수를 비롯해 지역 유관기관 및 단체장 등 총 40여 명이 자리를 함께했다.
이번에 준공한 대구FC는 건축연면적 33만㎡(약 10만평)에 지하 1층~지상 5층 규모로, 축구장 46개 넓이와 맞먹는 초대형 메가 풀필먼트 센터(Mega Fulfillment Center)다. 인천, 고양, 동탄 등 전국 각지의 쿠팡FC 가운데 가장 크며, 단일 물류시설로는 국내 최대 규모다.
대구FC는 2019년 5월 최초 설계를 시작, 2020년 2월 착공, 지난해 12월 준공 승인을 받아 이달에 준공식을 열게 됐다. 착공에서 준공까지 약 22개월이 걸렸다. 이번 공사에 대구지역업체 참여율은 76%에 달한다. 대구FC는 오는 4월 말부터 첨단 물류설비 테스트를 거쳐 내년 하반기경 본격적인 운영을 시작할 예정이다.
쿠팡은 대구FC에 최소 3200억원 이상을 투자해 국내 최고의 최첨단설비를 갖춘 물류기지를 구축할 계획이다. 대구FC는 AI 및 빅데이터와 함께 자동화 기술 등을 활용해 상품 관리와 배송 동선을 최적화하고, 친환경 물류설비를 갖춘 미래형 혁신물류센터로 운영된다.
아울러 대구FC는 대구 지역에 2,500개 이상의 새로운 일자리를 만든다. 쿠팡은 여성과 중장년층 등을 중심으로 지역민을 우선 고용할 계획이다.
본격 운영이 시작되면 대구FC는 전국의 쿠팡 물류 네트워크와 연계해 대구지역 소상공인들에게 더 큰 비즈니스 성장 기회를 제공할 것으로 전망된다. 2020년 4월 쿠팡이 대구시와 협력해 진행한 ‘힘내요 대한민국’ 기획전은 대구 지역 업체의 매출이 전년 동기 대비 평균 112% 성장하는 성과를 거둔 바 있다.
대구FC는 대구국가산업단지 주변 기업 뿐만 아니라 대구 및 경북권 소재 기업의 물류비를 절감시켜 지역 기업들의 경쟁력을 높이고 지역 유통물류산업 발전에도 시너지 효과를 낼 것으로 기대된다. 대구 및 영남권의 로켓배송 서비스 또한 개선되어 보다 우수한 고객 가치를 제공할 수 있다.
