희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)가 아프가니스탄 특별기여자의 정착을 돕는다.
희망브리지는 지난달 29일 정부과천청사에서 열린 법무부(장관 박범계) ‘아프가니스탄 특별기여자 정착지원을 위한 민관협력 플랫폼(서포터즈) 간담회’에서 서포터즈로 위촉됐다.
서포터즈로 활동하는 희망브리지를 비롯한 8개 단체는 취업과 생활, 교육, 의료, 종교 등 분야별로 전문성을 살려 특별기여자들에게 맞춤 서비스를 지원한다.
박범계 법무부 장관은 “기여자들이 지역사회에 정착하는 과정에서 언어, 문화적 차이, 사회적 시선 등 다양한 종류의 어려움에 직면하고 있어, 성공적인 정착을 위해서는 민간의 역할이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 “대한민국을 위해 힘써주신 아프간 특별기여자들이 우리 사회에 성공적으로 정착하는 날까지 희망브리지도 최선의 지원을 할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 희망브리지는 2020년부터 서울동부구치소, 경북북구제2교도소 등 교정시설에 방역용품을 비롯해 생활용품, 간식, 음료 15만4천634점을 지원하는 등 교정시설 내 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 법무부와 긴밀하게 협력해왔다.
