이를 위해 관내 경로당 247개소를 대상으로 의무보험(화재보험, 책임보험) 가입 지원, 안전·편의시설 설치, TV·냉장고 등 비품 지원, 냉방기기 및 전기안전 점검 등 경로당 운영 활성화에 나서고 있다.
관내 경로당 이용 어르신들이 안심하고 쾌적한 환경 속에서 여가 활동을 즐길 수 있도록 울진군 자체 사업비를 확보하여 지원함에 따라 경로당 이용 어르신의 편의제공부터 안전사고 대비까지 선제적으로 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않고 있다.
이로써 경로당을 이용하시는 어르신 약 1만 명이 이용 중에 발생할 수 있는 화재 등 각종사고 대비뿐만 아니라 안전사고 예방 조치까지 할 수 있게 되었다.
소규모 시설 보수 및 TV?냉장고?김치냉장고?에어컨 교체와 필터 청소·소독으로 폭염을 대비한 무더위 쉼터 역할도 수행할 수 있도록 하였으며, 연중 계속 해당 사업을 실시할 예정이다.
특히, 경로당 행복도우미 사업을 통하여 어르신의 건강?여가?교육?복지를 아우르는 현장 맞춤형 서비스를 제공함으로써 어르신 복지증진에 최선을 다하고 있다.
손병복 울진군수는 “어르신들을 위한 안전하고 편리한 여가활동 공간 마련과 공동취사제 운영에 따른 건강관리 지원 및 여가?교육 등 프로그램을 제공하는 등의 공공 역할 강화를 위해 행정 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
