브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차가 자율주행 및 인공지능(AI) 기술을 결합한 로보셔틀 서비스를 판교에서 선보인다.
현대차는 오는 29일부터 자율주행 및 인공지능 기술을 결합한 로보셔틀 시범 서비스를 경기도 판교에 선보인다고 28일 밝혔다.
로보셔틀은 로봇(Robot)과 버스를 의미하는 셔틀(Shuttle)의 합성어로 자율주행 기술을 적용한 다인승 모빌리티를 의미하며, 이번 시범 서비스에는 레벨4 자율주행 기술이 적용된 차량이 이용된다.
레벨4 자율주행 차량은 차량 스스로 주행 상황을 인지 및 판단해 차량을 제어할 수 있다. 일부 제한적인 상황을 제외하고는 비상 운전자가 개입하지 않는 것이 특징이다.
현대차는 대형 승합차인 쏠라티를 개조한 자율주행 차량 2대를 로보셔틀 시범 서비스에 투입하고, AI 기반 수요응답형 모빌리티 서비스 ‘셔클’을 접목해 서비스를 제공한다.
인공지능 기술을 접목한 모빌리티 서비스를 개발하는 조직인 MCS(Mobility & Connected-car Service) Lab이 개발한 셔클 서비스는 탑승객이 앱을 통해 가까운 정류장에서 차량을 호출 시 인공지능 알고리즘을 통해 생성되는 최적의 경로를 따라 호출한 위치로 차량이 이동하는 방식을 통해 대기시간을 단축하고 배차 효율성을 높인다.
현대차 로보셔틀은 판교테크노3사거리 기준 반경 약 540m로 설정된 지역에서 운영된다. 지난 해 세종시에서 첫 선을 보인 로보셔틀을 판교 제로시티에서 운영함으로써 복잡한 도심환경에서의 자율주행 실증을 진행한다.
