[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 지난달 30일부터 마산만 일대에서 폐사한 체 발견된 청어떼가 발생한지 닷새가 지나도록 줄어들지 않고 있다.
마산만 일대에서 죽은 체로 떠오른 청어떼가 당초 19톤에서 80톤이 넘는 어마한 양으로 늘어나면서, 창원시 공무원과 어민 등이 총 동원돼 연일 수거작업에 몰두하고 있다.
이에 창원시는 발생가능한 모든 가능성을 열어 두고 조사를 하고 있으며, 지난 3일 창원해양경찰서에 수사의뢰를 접수했다.

안병오 합포구청장은 "유독 10~15cm 정도의 어린 청어들이 폐사한 것으로 보아 멸치어선에서 멸치로 오인하고 잡았다가 어린 청어인 것을 확인하고 바다에 버린 것은 아닌가 하는 가능성을 짐작하고는 있지만 이 또한 여러가지 가능성 중 하나라며 아직은 단정짓기 어렵다"고 말했다.
이어 "해양경찰서에 협조 요청을 구해 놓은 상태로, 단속강화와 함께 청정해역을 지키는데 협력해 줄 것을 요청했다"고 말했다.
