In 2020   first half   financial activities   cash   inflows   82.34 trillion won. The increase in the inflow of cash through finance means that the amount of borrowings in the money market has increased by that much.

In terms of cash flow alone, it appears that, in the first half of this year, domestic and large corporations   operating   revenues   decreased significantly  , but   increased borrowings   increased     investment    .

Among the 21 industries surveyed in the first half of this year, 10 industries showed improved cash flow from operating activities. The net inflow of the securities industry (17 companies), which increased from 1.93 trillion won in the first half of last year to 13,677.2 billion won in the first half of this year, was the largest. The increase alone was 12,583.4 billion won, showing an increase of more than 12 times. In the case of the first half of 2020, the securities industry saw no cash inflow, but 14,343 trillion won outflow.

Next, the amount of cash inflows from transportation (4.705 trillion won → 12,124 billion won), automobiles and parts (7.1808 trillion won → 11,328.2 billion won), and energy (1.10.2 trillion won → 1.9434 trillion won) also increased.

Conversely, 11 industries, including public corporations, saw their operating performance deteriorated. Major public corporations, such as KEPCO, which recorded a net inflow of 12,517.3 billion won in the first half of last year, recorded a net outflow of 4.94 trillion won in the first half of this year, and were the main culprits in the deterioration of business, business, cash, and flow. The decrease alone amounted to 17.46 trillion won. The sectors where operating   cash   flow deteriorated were petrochemicals, banking, construction/construction materials, shipbuilding/machinery/facility, etc.

By company, out of 341 companies surveyed, 151 (44.3%) showed improvement in operating cash flow, while 190 (55.7%) companies' operating cash flow deteriorated.

Meritz Securities, which recorded a net outflow of 983.5 billion won in the first half of last year, turned to a net inflow of 6.12 trillion won (an increase of 7.1 trillion won) in the first half of this year, making the best performance. It was followed by Korea Securities Finance Corporation, Hyundai Motor Company, and Mirae Asset Securities.

On the other hand, KEPCO, which recorded a net inflow of KRW 5,373.2 billion in the first half of last year, turned to a net outflow of KRW 9,748.8 billion (decreased by KRW 15.122 billion) in the first half of this year, and its operating activities, cash, and flow were the worst among the surveyed companies.

Standard Chartered Bank of Korea and Hi Investment & Securities also suffered large losses. In particular, LG Chem also saw a total decrease of 3.85.3 trillion won from a net inflow of 2.65 trillion won to a net outflow of 431 billion won. reached

The investment was led by IT companies such as Samsung and LG. Samsung Electronics invested 19,929.3 billion won in the first half of this year, an increase of 14.18 trillion won from 5.747 trillion won in the first half of last year. LG Chem also increased its investment spending by 9.2 trillion won from 1.398.2 billion won last year to 10.60 trillion won this year,   Hana Bank (6,199.8 trillion won↑) and Kookmin Bank (6.109.9 trillion won↑) also increased their investment.

In the first half of last year alone, Naver's investment expenditure, which was 13.304 trillion won, was only 567.4 billion won in the first half of this year. This is a decrease of 12.46 trillion won. Even if the merger of Line, which was a subsidiary, with Japan's SoftBank, was reflected, the decrease in investment and expenses was excessively large.

Next, in the first half of this year, Kia (3.886 trillion won ↓), Standard Chartered Bank of Korea (3.38 trillion won ↓), Hyundai Motor (2.385 trillion won ↓), and SK Chemicals (1.558 trillion won)  showed the largest decline in investment spending in the first half of this year .

On the other hand, eight companies, including Korea Securities Finance, Kyobo Securities, and Hana Securities, showed improvements in both operating and investment cash flows. In contrast, 14 companies, including Citibank Korea, Lotte Chemical, and HDC Hyundai Development Company, had their operating and investment activities cash flow deteriorated in the first half of this year, with cash flows from operating activities turned into net outflows and cash flows from investment activities turned into net inflows.

Despite the brisk cash flow from operating activities in the securities industry, it was found that the cash flow from operating and investment activities of Korea Investment & Securities did not improve for three consecutive years.
