브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KB국민은행은 28일 보도자료를 통해 KB국민은행 임직원의 참여를 통해 모은 기부금 1억원을 학대 피해 아동을 위해 기부한다고 밝혔다.
아동학대에 대한 사회적 관심이 커졌지만, 아동학대 발생 건수는 해마다 증가하고 있다. 이에 KB국민은행은 어린이들이 안전하고 건강하게 생활할 수 있도록 학대 피해 아동을 위한 지원을 결정했다.
특히, 이번 기부는 KB국민은행 임직원들이 직접 참여해 의미를 더했다. 환경·사회 문제에 관심을 가지고 동참을 유도하고자 임직원 대상 생방송 퀴즈쇼 ‘KB Ace Live-ESG 특별편’을 진행해 정답자 수에 따라 1인당 1만원의 기부금을 적립해 1억원의 기부금을 조성했다. 조성된 기부금은 세이브더칠드런에 전달해 학대 피해 쉼터에 입소한 아이들을 위한 긴급지원 및 심리검사·치료 등에 사용될 예정이다.
KB국민은행 관계자는 “임직원들의 자발적인 참여로 실시된 이번 지원을 통해 학대 피해에서 벗어나 일상으로 회복하는 데 조금이나마 도움이 될 수 있기를 바란다”며 “아이들이 안전한 환경에서 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 아낌없이 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
