브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= KB국민은행은 17일 보도자료를 통해 지난 16일 한국마이크로소프트와 메타버스 기술 협력을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
KB국민은행 여의도 IT센터에서 개최된 이번 협약식에는 윤진수 KB국민은행 테크그룹 대표, 이지은 한국마이크로소프트 대표이사 및 양 기관 관계자가 참석했다.
KB국민은행은 한국마이크로소프트와의 업무협약을 통해 △증강현실(AR) 분야 공동 과제 발굴 및 실행 △증강현실(AR)과 혼합현실(MR)을 활용한 금융 콘텐츠 개발 △금융과 메타버스(AR, MR)의 융합 서비스를 위한 기술 협력 등에 대해 상호 협력하기로 했다.
또한, KB국민은행은 마이크로소프트와 함께 홀로렌즈를 활용한 금융콘텐츠를 개발해 금융소비자 보호를 위한 직원 교육 훈련 프로그램을 선보일 예정이다. 영업점 직원이 가상의 고객을 대상으로 금융상품을 판매하면서 금융소비자보호법 준수 여부를 스스로 점검할 수 있는 교육 훈련 프로그램을 구축해 불완전 판매를 예방한다는 계획이다.
윤진수 KB국민은행 테크그룹 대표는 “앞으로 여러 형태의 메타버스가 등장할 것이고 그곳에 참여자가 늘어나면 자연스럽게 금융활동이 생겨날 것으로 예상한다”며, “이를 위해 선제적으로 메타버스 뱅킹 서비스 모델을 실험하면서 필요한 기술들을 확보하고 관련 기업들과 협력도 확대해 나갈 계획이다”고 말했다.
한편, KB국민은행은 메타버스에서 다양한 금융 실험을 해왔다. 게더타운이나 로블록스 같은 메타버스 플랫폼 안에 가상영업점을 만들어 리브 Next와 연계 이벤트를 진행했으며, 가상현실기기(VR)를 활용해 VR영업점을 오픈한 바 있다.
