[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시가 창원시지속가능발전협의회와 19일 오후 창원컨벤션센터 회의실에서 '지속가능발전 로드맵 타운홀 미팅'을 개최했다.
이번 토론회는 지속가능발전 기본법 시행에 따른 창원시 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)에 대한 기본 교육과 지속가능발전 정책 추진현황을 공유하고, 이해관계자 토론을 통한 창원형 지역 로드맵 수립을 위한 구체적인 실천방안을 모색하고자 마련됐다.
‘지속가능발전’이란 한 사람도 소외되지 않는 것이라는 유엔의 슬로건을 바탕으로 지속가능한 경제 성장과 포용적 사회, 깨끗하고 안정적인 환경이 지속가능성에 기초하여 조화와 균형을 이루는 발전을 말한다.
이날 행사에는 시민, 여성, 기업, 시민사회, 청년 등 지역의 지속가능발전 이해관계자와 창원시지속가능발전협의회 위원, 창원시 관계 공무원 등 80여 명이 참석했다.
행사 참가자들은 ▲지속가능발전의 의미와 단위별 세부목표 이해 ▲창원시 지속가능발전 추진현황 공유와 정책에 대한 상호학습 ▲ 지속가능발전 관련 이해관계자의 역할 및 협력방안 등을 9개의 모둠별로 나누어 토론회를 진행했다.
김동주 환경정책과장은 "이번 토론회를 통해 지역 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 다양한 지속가능발전목표 실천방안을 공유할 수 있는 계기가 된 것 같다"며, "앞으로 지속가능발전목표를 수립하는 과정에서 지역사회의 이해관계자들이 적극적으로 참여해 관련 정책적 역량이 강화될 수 있도록 의견수렴의 장을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다"고 밝혔다.
