브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 이성희 농협중앙회장이 지난 25일 전북 순창과 전남 담양의 폭설 피해농가를 방문해 농업인을 위로하고, 농협차원의 조기 복구지원방안을 강구했다.
이날 현장에는 이재식 농협중앙회 부회장, 최문섭 NH농협손해보험 대표, 관내 조합장 등이 동행해 피해현장을 면밀히 점검하고 농가의 애로사항을 청취했다.
지난 22일부터 사흘간 내린 호남지역 폭설은 17년만에 가장 많은 강설량을 기록했다. 최고 60cm 이상 내린 많은 눈으로 비닐하우스와 축산시설 붕괴 등 크고 작은 피해가 잇따랐다.
농협은 농업인 피해 최소화와 신속한 복구지원을 위해 △신속한 농협 손해보험 피해조사 △긴급 피해복구 인력지원 △피해규모에 따른 무이자재해자금 등 종합대책을 수립하여 지원에 나설 계획이다.
이 중앙회장은 “기록적인 폭설과 한파로 많은 피해를 입은 농업인 지원을 위해 농협 차원의 역량을 결집할 것”이라며 “정부 지자체 등 관계기관과도 긴밀히 협력해 신속한 피해 복구지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
