[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 사천시와 함께 우주항공청 설립 정부 로드맵에 따라 청사후보지 마련, 정주여건 개선 등 지역 차원의 제반 사항 준비에 만전을 기하고 있다.
경남도는 사천시와 함께 우주항공청이 들어설 후보지를 지난 9월부터 준비하고 있으며, 내년에 우주항공청이 곧바로 출범할 것을 대비해 임시청사도 언제든지 사용할 수 있도록 선제적으로 마련 중에 있다.
또한 교통, 교육, 쇼핑 등 일상생활 영위가 충분히 가능할 수 있도록 우주항공청을 중심으로 한 대규모 주거, 상업 공간 등이 포함된 신도시 개념의 행정복합타운 조성을 계획하고 있다.
이를 위한 첫 발걸음으로 29일 사천시청에서 ‘우주항공청 연계 도시발전 기본계획 수립 용역’ 착수보고회를 개최했다.
이날 보고회에는 박동식 사천시장과 조여문 경남도 항공우주산업과장, ‘우주항공청 사천 설치 실무 TF’ 위원 등 산학연관 관계자 30여 명이 참석했다.
내년 12월까지 진행되는 용역에는 ▲도시 여건 분석과 항공우주 선진도시 개발사례 분석 ▲도시발전 계획 기본구상 및 실행계획 수립 ▲우주항공청 중심 행정복합타운 개발 기본구상 및 실행계획 수립 ▲이주자 지원시책 마련 등이 담길 예정이다.
경남도는 용역 추진 전 과정을 과기정통부 ‘우주항공청 설립 추진단’과 공유하고 협의해 나간다는 방침이다.
아울러 경남도는 우주항공청 설립과 연계해 우주항공산업 기반을 강화하고 기업 및 관련 기관 등을 유치해 경남이 글로벌 우주항공 도시로 확실히 자리매김할 수 있도록 산업 밀착형 지원 정책도 적극 추진한다.
