[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 29일 파크골프장 확대 공급 및 효율적 운영을 위한 ‘파크골프장 마스터플랜’을 수립했다고 밝혔다.
시는 최근 시니어 생활체육 인구가 급격히 늘어나면서 파크골프에 대한 수요도 폭발적인 증가세에 있으나 시설이 부족한 현실을 반영해, 파크골프장 신설·공급 및 향후 운영 방향을 위해 민선8기 공약과제로 “창원특례시 파크골프장 마스터플랜 수립”을 선정했다.
지난 10월부터 파크골프TF를 구성·운영하여 ▲균형적인 파크골프 인프라 확충으로 지역간 불균형 해소 ▲단계별, 체계적 사업 추진을 통한 시민공감대 형성 ▲파크골프장의 효율적인 운영 방안 마련 등 3대 원칙을 중점으로 ‘창원시 파크골프장 마스터플랜’을 수립했다고 밝혔다.
현재 창원시 관내에서 운영 중인 파크골프장은 총7개소 213홀이며, 파크골프 회원은 총110개 클럽, 약 8천여 명으로 회원 수가 급격하게 증가하는 추세다. 하지만 수요에 비해 공급이 따라가지 못하면서 시설 부족과 이용자의 불편이 가중돼, 파크골프장 조성 확대를 요구하는 민원이 계속되고 있는 실정이다.
