[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍남표 창원특례시장은 11일 국토부 김정희 국토정책관이 창원을 방문해 역점 시책으로 추진중인 창원국가산단 2.0 신청지 현장을 확인했다고 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 중앙정부의 국토정책관과 녹색도시과, 산업입지정책과 담당 사무관이 신청지들의 입지 조건과 GB 현황 등을 살펴보았으며, 홍남표 창원특례시장, 김영선 국회의원이 현장에서 국가산단의 신규 지정 필요성과 새로운 융합형 미래산업단지(국가산단 2.0) 각 거점지역의 필요성과 역할을 설명했다.
창원특례시는 ‘방산·원자력산업 분야에 특화된 새로운 창원국가산단’을 중앙정부로부터 지정받기 위해 관련 제안서를 이미 제출하였으며, 이를 위해 그동안 홍남표 창원특례시장과 김영선 국회의원은 ▲ 새로운 창원국가산단 부지확보를 위해 국회 주관 토론회에서 창원지역의 그린벨트 해제 논리 발표 ▲ 국토부 평가단 대상 국가산단 제안서 및 후보지 현장 설명 ▲ 국회 상임위원회 위원 대상 설득 ▲ 국토부 장관 면담 건의 등을 직접 추진해 왔으며, 이번 방문은 이러한 노력에 대한 중앙부처의 응답으로 볼 수 있다.
