[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 창원시립미술관 건립지, 창원읍성 동문지 복원지, 진해 근대역사문화공간 조성지 등 주요 현안사업 현장 점검을 13일 실시했다.
이번 현장 방문은 문화유산육성과 주요 현안사업의 사업 방향 설정 등 추진현황 점검을 통해 미진한 부분 등에 대해 개선안을 찾아 사업의 추진속도를 높이기 위해 이뤄졌다.
창원시립미술관 건립사업은 의창구 중동 794-11번지 사화공원내 지하 1층·지상 3층 규모로 현재 건축 실시설계 중이며 2023년 하반기 착공할 예정이다.
창원읍성 동문지 복원사업은 2017년 1단계(부지보상)사업완료 후 2018년부터 2단계(사유지보상, 성곽복원)사업 추진중이며, 올해는 보상완료된 주택 철거와 2단계사업 일부보상을 추진할 예정이다.
진해 근대역사문화공간 조성사업은 1910년 우리나라 최초의 근대 계획도시로 근대 도시 경관과 건축 유산이 집중적으로 보존되고 있어 역사적 가치를 높이 평가받아 2021년 문화재청 근대역사문화공간 재생활성화사업 공모사업으로 선정되었으며, 지역의 특성에 맞는 차별화된 정비방안을 마련하기 위한 종합정비계획 용역을 수립하고 있다.
정현섭 문화관광체육국장은 “창원시립미술관 건립과 진해 근대역사문화공간 조성에 있어 차별화된 콘텐츠로 지역 정체성을 살린 지역을 대표하는 예술공간을 마련해주기를 바란다”고 말했다.
