“Mr. Obama, US = World hopes 'Ha ha ha'”

-A congratulatory poem dedicated to President Obama, the first black president in American history, upon his inauguration-

▲  january 20, 2009, barack obama will become the new president of the united states.

in july 1969, the united states of america launched the apollo 11.
when astronaut armstrong first set foot on the moon, the entire world applauded the usa.

january 20, 2009, barack obama will become the new president of the united states.
this will be an exciting and happy day for all people throughout the world.

the world once again applauds the united states
for its great decision in appointing a black president, the first in its history of two hundred and thirty two years,
and for obama’s political success, which he achieved through hard work and self-made opportunities.

wheat and barley is able to produce fruit in the spring
only after enduring a hard winter.
because president obama was able to endure great hardship
and look straight ahead without losing hope,
he was able to mold his current success.

president obama’s inauguration shows the world
that hope is the greatest competitiveness of american citizens.

president obama,
it is our greatest wish that you will respect the usa that has chosen you as its president,
and that you will work together with the rest of the world to help create a better world.

the united states of america is
 first,

a country with many christians.
the inauguration of president obama
is a great event that once again reminds us of the living god.

america, by choosing obama,
showed the entire world
that by disregarding prejudices of the past,
god is the only divine being.

the inauguration of president obama shows
that the us will begin anew,
with no racial groups suffering from political prejudices.
it is our hope that this day forth
no one will have to become a victim of faulty prejudice.

it is our prayer that this day forth
the thoughts and minds of the world will change in a direction in which
war, poverty, prejudice, cursing, and fear will no longer become an issue.
president obama,
we think highly of the clean hearts that chose you as president.

we hope that you understand
that as the representative political leader of the united states,
which the world’s conscience is greatly inclined towards,
it is pivotal that you do not turn your back to the conscience of the human race
and stand strong in your beliefs.

we pray that you become
a young and energetic president
that leads the world economy into hope,
so that we may escape from the nationalism that threatens the survival of the sixty five hundred million people of the human race.

we pray that you will become a leader
that will turn the nuclear bombs, which have the power to kill the entire human race,
the military weapons of the us,
and the military weapons of the rest of the world
into tools of world peace.

it is our hope that victims of drugs and terror will decrease.
we hope that hope and freedom will replace wounds in people’s souls.

during the korean presidential election in 2002
koreans showed great antipathy towards the united states,
large crowds giving demonstrations throughout the streets of kwang-hwa-moon
following the tragic deaths of mi-sun and hyo-soon.
recalling this period
makes me think about the destiny between president obama and korea.

we are the last divided nation in the face of this planet.
painful fetters in which parents and siblings, divided for sixty years,
cannot send one letter freely to one another.
we pray that you will become a leading politician
that helps to eliminate savagery of all mankind.

dawn comes in all countries, all land.
as there is a dawn in the morning of chicago that you, president obama, have grown up in,
likewise, morning approaches daily in the ma-kok-sa of kong-ju, korea

in the valley of ma-kok-sa,
when early dawn approaches,
a special inspiration occurs, whether conscious or not.

it is my wish that in the dawn of your inauguration
the entire human race will feel renewed.
i pray that the inspiration of a land of promise, land of opportunity,
and land of hope will spread to the entire human race.

in this way, despite our hard days,
i pray that the pursuit of “one human race of one prosperous flower” and “one family of one global community”
will never stop.

president obama,
through your inauguration,
i once again realize how priceless dreams and hopes are
and feel truly happy.

despite what others may say,
the generation following obama will become
a generation of “cessation of prejudice.”

there will be a cessation of contempt and scorn
based on differences in skin color, ideals, and education.

above all, it will be a generation in which
humans will be held in superiority
and true humanity will lead the human race.

a beautiful chandelier
is able to show off its beauty by
reflecting the light of the individual pieces of glass.

i pray that by gathering differentiated cultures and cultural legacies in one place,
we can produce one great chandelier of the human race
and shine perpetual light on the global community.

president obama, once again, we send our sincerest congratulations on your inauguration.
