【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 20일 국내 최대규모인 30MW급 청정수소 생산 실증사업 유치계획서를 한국에너지기술평가원에 제출했다고 21일 밝혔다.

이번 공모사업은 정부 주도로 2025년부터 2030년까지 총사업비 2,600억이 투입되는 30MW급 청정수소 생산 기술개발 및 실증사업이다.
우선 2025부터 2026년까지 1,500억원을 투입해 수전해 기술(알칼라인 20MW, PEM 10MW)을 기업 공모를 통해 개발하고, 2026부터 2030년까지 1,100억원을 투입해 청정수소 생산기술을 실증하는 사업을 추진하는데, 울진군은 1,100억원이 투입되는 청정수소 생산 실증사업에 대한 유치계획서를 제출했다.
울진은 무탄소 에너지원인 원자력을 활용하여 청정수소를 생산할 수 있는 최적지로 원전의 저렴한 전력 단가와 높은 이용률(80% 이상)을 활용하면 대량의 수소를 경제적으로 생산할 수 있어 원자력수소는 우리나라 수소경제의 핵심기술이라 할 수 있다.
게다가 이미 울진군은 국가산단으로 지정되면서 연구시설 입지 계획이 수립된 상황이다. 국가산단 내에서 본 공모사업을 통해 청정수소 생산기술이 완성되면 국가산단에 입주하는 기업들과 시너지를 내면서 탄소중립과 탄소국경세와 같은 대외환경 변화 대응은 물론 에너지 산업 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
이번 공모사업은 울진군을 포함한 전국 4개 지자체가 유치계획서를 제출한 상태이며, 25일 발표평가, 27일 평가 결과 발표가 예정되어 있다.
손병복 울진군수는“울진군은 이미 원자력수소 국가산단 후보지로 선정된 곳이며, 원자력수소를 생산하기 위한 최적의 조건을 가진 곳이기 때문에 본 공모사업인 30MW급 청정수소 생산 실증사업은 반드시 울진군에서 유치되어야 한다”며“탄소중립 시대에 수소경제를 실현하기 위해서는 대량의 청정수소를 경제적으로 생산할 수 있는 방법은 원자력수소 밖에 없다”라고 전했다.

For this contest project, four local governments including Uljin-gun have submitted their invitation plans, and an evaluation is scheduled to be announced on the 25th and an evaluation result on the 27th.
