이번 공동점포는 한국씨티은행의 소비자금융 단계적 폐지에 따른 금융소비자 불편을 최소화하기 위해 KB국민은행과 한국씨티은행 간 제휴를 통해 추진됐다.
한국씨티은행 대전중앙지점이 사용했던 2층 공간에 KB국민은행이 입점하는 새로운 방식의 층 분리형 공동점포로 운영된다. KB국민은행 이용을 원하는 기존 한국씨티은행 고객은 영업시간 내 내부계단을 통해 은행 간 원활한 이동이 가능하며 편리하게 거래은행을 이전할 수 있다.
KB국민은행과의 거래를 시작하는 한국씨티은행 고객은 KB국민은행 거래 이력이 없어도 한국씨티은행에서 받던 수준과 같은 혜택을 KB국민은행에서 받을 수 있다.
일례로, 입출금 통장인 ‘KB스타플러스 통장’개설 시 수수료 면제 혜택 총 15종을 조건 및 횟수 제한 없이 받을 수 있고, 펀드·방카 이전 및 사후관리 등을 제공받을 수 있다.

한편, KB국민은행은 금융 소비자 편익 제고를 위해 다양한 곳에 공동점포를 운영하고 있다. 지난해 5월 신한은행과 함께 경기도 양주, 경상북도 영주 지역에 공동점포를 개설했고, 같은 해 9월 BNK부산은행과 금곡동에 공동점포를 개점하는 등 시중은행 영업점이 부족한 지역 고객의 대면채널 접근성 개선을 위해 지속적으로 노력하고 있다.
