【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 김한성)는 지난 8일 주변지역(양남면, 문무대왕면, 감포읍) 주민들에게 장학금을 지급했다고 11일 밝혔다.

월성본부는 주변지역에 3년 이상 연속하여 거주하고 있는 지역주민이나 자녀 중 대학교 재학생을 대상으로 245명의 신청을 받아 인당 100만원에서 120만원씩 총 2억 6천만원을 지원했다.
한편 월성본부는 오는 18일까지 대학생 장학금 후기 이벤트를 시행한다. 대상자는 수혜 학생 및 학부모 490명이며, 휴대폰으로 참여 가능하다.
참여자 전원에게는 커피 기프티콘 2장을, 우수 수기작으로 선정된 5명에게는 5만원 상당의 기프티콘을 제공할 예정이다.
김한성 본부장은 “월성본부는 지역주민들의 학비 부담을 덜어주고, 학생들에게 학습동기를 부여하기 위해 지속적으로 장학금 지원 사업을 시행하고 있다.”면서, “지역의 학생들이 훌륭한 인재로 성장해 지역과 국가 발전에 밑거름이 되기를 바란다.”고 말했다.
