과천시 애향장학회, 재능장학생 15명 장학증서 수여

과천시 애향장학회가 지난 7월 15일 과천시의회 열린강좌실에서 ‘2024학년도 재능장학생 장학증서 수여식’을 개최, 총 15명에게 장학증서를 전달했다.

애향장학회는 관내 중고생 가운데 예술, 체육, 과학 등의 분야에서 재능이 뛰어난 개인 14명, 단체 1팀을 재능장학생으로 선정, 중학생에게는 100만 원, 고등학생에게는 150만 원, 단체에는 200만 원을 전달하는 등 총 1,950만원 규모의 장학금을 전달했다.

이날 장학증서 수여식에는 재능장학생 15명과 학부모, 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석했다.

신계용 과천시장은 수여식에 참석한 학생들을 격려하며 “지역을 대표하는 장학생으로서 자긍심을 갖고 우리 지역, 나아가 국가의 발전을 이끌 훌륭한 인재가 되어주길 바란다”며, “시에서도 다양한 교육 지원사업을 통해 우수인재 양성에 혼신의 힘을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

과천시는 1993년 1월 과천시 애향장학회를 설립해 현재까지 228억원의 장학기금을 조성·운영, 현재까지 중고교생과 대학생 6,644명에게 112억 2,485만원의 장학금을 지급했다.
