[브레이크뉴스경기남부=김포 이현준기자] 김포시는 ‘2025년 공공체육시설 개보수 지원 사업 공모’에 선정됐다.
문화체육관광부에서 지원하는 사업 공모에 선정되어 국비 예산 5억4천만원을 확보했다.
‘2025년 공공체육시설 개보수 지원 사업’은 공공체육시설 개보수를 통해 노후시설 개선 및 체육시설 이용자의 안전한 체육활동 보장 등 체육활동 편의 증진을 도모하고자 국민체육진흥기금을 통해 지원하는 사업이다.
김포시는 김포도시관리공사와 관내 공공체육시설을 점검하고 이용 시민들의 요구사항을 반영하여, 2002년 건립된 통진문화회관의 노후화된 시설을 보수하고 김포한강스포츠센터 내 수영장 보수공사를 위해 5억4천만원의 국비를 확보하게 됐다.
김병수 김포시장은 “이번 공모사업을 통해 총사업비 11억4천만원중 5억4천만원을 지원받게 되어 예산절감은 물론 노후된 공공체육시설 정비를 통해 시설물의 안전성을 확보하고 지역 생활체육 활성화 기반을 마련해 시민 건강 증진에 기여 할 수 있게 되어 기쁘다.”며 “앞으로도 시민들이 안전하고 쾌적하게 체육활동을 할 수 있도록 공공체육시설 관리에 힘쓰도록 하겠다”고 의지를 밝혔다.
이번 선정된 공모사업은 김병수 시장이 국제스케이트장 공모사업과 함께 문화체육관광부에 직접 방문 건의하면서 이룬 성과이다.
한편, 김포시는 작년에 실내테니스장과 율생체육공원 공모사업이 확정되어 총21억원을 교부 받아 공사를 마무리하고 있으며, 금년 5월에 솔터파크골프장에 4억5천만원이 확정되어 하반기 착공 예정에 있다.
