과천시, ‘2024년 제2회 과천시 청년정책위원회’ 개최

과천시가 지난 11월 6일 시청 상황실에서 ‘2024년 제2회 과천시 청년정책위원회’를 개최해 올해 시행된 청년정책의 추진 현황을 점검하고 위원들의 의견을 수렴했다.

올해 과천시는 청년의 능동적인 사회 참여 유도와 자립 기반 마련 등 더 나은 사회적 여건을 조성을 목표로 약 80억 원의 예산을 편성, 청년의 일자리, 주거, 복지, 문화 등의 분야에서 29개의 사업을 추진하고 있다.

과천시 청년정책위원회는 ‘과천시 청년 기본 조례’에 근거해 청년정책에 관한 주요 사항을 심의·의결하는 기구.

이날 회의에 참석한 청년위원 4명을 비롯한 전문가와 관계 공무원 등 12명은 청년 창업펀드 조성사업과 과천형 기업인턴 체험사업, 지역주도형 일자리 사업 등 청년들의 취업과 창업 지원을 위한 사업에 대해 활발히 논의했다.

청년위원들은 특히, 실질적인 취업 체험 기회를 확대하기 위해 모의 면접 프로그램, 청년들이 지정타 입주 기업의 취업 정보를 얻고 소통할 수 있는 기업박람회 등의 새로운 사업에 대해서 제안했다. 이밖에도 시민회관 옆 잔디마당(정부과천청사 유휴지)을 활용한 야외 결혼식 장소 제공 등과 같은 실생활 밀착형 사업도 제안했다.

과천시 김선주 복지정책과장은 “청년들을 위해 추진 중인 다양한 사업이 계획대로 잘 진행되고 있는지 점검하는 시간이었다”며, “청년 위원들께서 주신 다양한 의견을 반영해 앞으로도 청년을 위한 실효성 있는 정책 발굴에 더욱 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
