[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 오는 2025년 1월 1일부터 행정기구를 대대적으로 재편성해 ‘부강한 진주’를 향한 새로운 도약을 선언했다.
진주시 행정기구는 기존 11개국 83과에서 1개국 5개과를 신설하고, 3개과를 통합·폐지해 12개국 85개과로 재편된다.
이번 조직개편의 핵심은 저출산·고령사회 대응, 우주항공산업 육성, 그리고 문화도시 진주를 통한 지역 발전을 위한 강력한 행정적 조치다.
진주시는 인구청년정책관을 부시장 직속기관으로 신설해 진주형 청년정책을 발굴하고 추진하는 강력한 컨트롤타워 역할을 진행한다는 방침이다.
또 우주항공경제국을 새로 만들며, 우주항공산업과, 기업통상과, 일자리경제과를 배치해 활발한 기업 유치와 양질의 일자리 창출에 나설 계획이다.
또한 문화관광국 내에 문화유산과를 신설해 대한민국 문화도시 진주의 브랜드 가치를 높이고, 유네스코 창의도시 간 문화예술 교류를 활성화할 예정이다.
교통안전국을 신설하고 교통행정과, 시민안전과, 스마트도시과 등 관련 부서를 통합해 교통허브도시와 재해 없는 안전한 도시 기반을 다진다는 계획이다.
게다가 기후위기와 탄소중립 대응을 위해 환경산림국 내에 기후대기과를 신설하고, 남중권의 탄소중립 중심도시로의 도약을 위한 발판을 마련 할 예정이다.
더우기 평생학습원과 같은 교육 관련 기관을 ‘교육체육국’으로 개편해 창의적인 미래 인재 육성과 평생학습 활성화에 힘쓸 계획이다.
특히 문화시설사업소를 신설해 이성자미술관, 익룡전시관, 청동기박물관 등 문화시설을 통합해 시민들의 문화향유 기회를 확대하고, 문화시설 운영의 효율성을 높일 예정이다.
