최민호 세종시장이 24일 시청 집현실에서 열린 간부회의에서 올해 시정의 주요 성과를 강조하며, 공무원들의 노고를 치하했다.
이날 회의에서 최 시장은 이응패스 도입, 지방법원 및 검찰청 건립 확정, 한글문화도시 지정, 친환경종합센터 건립 추진 등을 올해의 성과로 꼽았다.
최 시장은 “올해 우리시가 살기 좋은 도시 1위에 선정되어 시민 자부심을 높인 일과 행정안전부 평가에서 행정력을 입증한 일이 가장 기뻤다”며, 이는 전 직원들의 노력과 시민 모두의 기쁨이라고 말했다.
앞서 세종시는 지난 6월 ㈔한국지역경영원이 발표한 ‘2024 대한민국 지속가능한 도시’ 순위에서 인구, 경제, 교육, 건강, 안전 등 5개 부문에서 총합 637.8점을 획득하며 도시 지속가능성 종합 1위에 올랐다.
또한, 행안부의 정부합동 평가에서 특·광역시 부문 정량·정성 평가에서 2관왕을 차지하고, 지역행정 효율 증진 우수 및 균형발전사업 최우수 지자체로 선정되는 등 행정력에서 우수한 성과를 거두었다.
최 시장은 하반기 제2회 추경에서 2026 세종 국제정원도시박람회 관련 예산이 전액 삭감된 것에 대해 언급하며, 시정에 어려움이 있었지만 그것이 전부는 아니라고 강조했다.
그는 “박람회를 준비하며 국비 예산 확보, 행안부 중앙투자심사 통과, 정원 확보 등 행정적으로 할 수 있는 일을 모두 이뤘다”며, 정치적인 이유로 박람회가 무산된 것에 대한 아쉬움을 표했다.
그는 올해를 시정의 여러 분야에서 막혀 있던 일이 진척되는 의미 있는 한 해로 평가하며, 공무원들의 노고를 다시 한번 격려했다.
