국민의힘 신동욱 수석대변인은 2월19일 “검사 사칭’에 이은 ‘보수 사칭’. 지지율을 위해 정체성마저 내던지는 이재명 대표의 진심은 무엇 입니까” 제목의 논평을 발표했다.
이 논평에서 “실용주의를 내세워 우클릭 갈지자 행보를 하던 이재명 대표가 급기야 자신의 정체성까지 부인하기에 이르렀습니다. 어제 유튜브에 출연한 이 대표는 ”우리는 진보가 아니다. 민주당은 중도보수로 오른쪽을 맡아야 한다“고 말하며 “우클릭은 프레임”이라고 강변했습니다“고 설명하고 ”아무리 자신이 한 말도 자고 나면 호떡 뒤집듯 바꾸는 것이 이 대표 특기라지만, 그동안 당이 추구해온 지향점까지 스스로 부인하며 보수를 ‘참칭’하는 이 대표의 모습에서 다급함을 넘어 애처로움마저 느껴집니다“고 강조했다.
이어 “시그니처 정책이었던 기본소득마저 내던지고 기업 주도의 성장 전환을 외치고, 반도체특별법에서 ‘주52시간 예외' 조항을 검토하겠다더니 슬쩍 빼버린 뒤 여당 탓을 하는 이 대표에게 조금이라도 국민에 대한 ‘진심’은 있는 것입니까. 아무리 발버둥을 쳐도 이 대표가 최근에 보인 행동들은 중도층 표심을 잡기 위해 무리수를 두는 ‘정치 쇼’ 그 이상도 이하도 아닙니다”고 지적하고 “족쇄인 사법리스크가 점점 더 짙어지고 지지율이 박스권에 갇히자 보이는 ’악어의 눈물‘일 뿐입니다. 정치적 유불리와 상황에 따라 ’아니면 말고‘식 말 바꾸기를 일삼는 것은 ’국민 우롱‘ 행태입니다”고 피력혔다.
이 논평의 결론 부분에서는 “민주당은 지지율에 도움이 되지 않을 것 같으니 당과 자신의 정체성마저 부인하며 보수를 ‘사칭’하는 이재명 대표의 발언에 동의하는 것입니까? 국민 앞에 명확한 입장을 내놓길 바랍니다”고 덧붙였다.

On February 19, People Power Party Spokesperson Shin Dong-wook released a commentary titled, "Following the impersonation of a prosecutor, 'impersonation of a conservative'. What is the true intention of Representative Lee Jae-myung, who is throwing away his identity for approval ratings?"
In this commentary, he explained, "Representative Lee Jae-myung, who has been advocating pragmatism and taking right-wing moves, has ended up denying his own identity. Representative Lee, who appeared on YouTube yesterday, said, "We are not progressives. The Democratic Party should take the right side as a moderate conservative," and insisted, "Right-wing is a frame." He emphasized, "No matter how much he changes his words after sleeping, it is Representative Lee's specialty to change them like flipping a pancake, but the sight of Representative Lee denying the direction the party has pursued so far and 'impersonating' conservatives makes me feel more than desperate, it is pitiful."
He continued, “Does this representative, who even threw away his signature policy of basic income and called for a corporate-led growth transition, and who quietly removed the ‘52-hour workweek exception’ clause from the Semiconductor Special Act after saying he would review it, and then blamed the ruling party, have any ‘sincerity’ toward the people? No matter how much he struggles, the representative’s recent actions are nothing more or less than a ‘political show’ to win over the moderate votes,” and “It’s just ‘crocodile tears’ that he’s shedding as the shackles of judicial risk grow thicker and his approval ratings are stuck in a box. Changing his words like ‘or else’ depending on political advantages and disadvantages and the situation is an act of ‘fooling the people.’” In the concluding part of this commentary, he added, “Do you agree with Representative Lee Jae-myung’s remarks that deny the party and his own identity and ‘impersonate’ conservatives because it seems that the Democratic Party will not help its approval ratings? I hope he presents a clear position to the people.”
