[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 세계적인 소프트웨어 인증 전문기업과 손잡고 우주항공산업의 글로벌 경쟁력 강화에 나선다.
진주시는 19일 시청 5층 기업인의 방에서 영국의 글로벌 소프트웨어 인증 기업 LDRA(Liverpool Data Research Associates)와 우주항공산업 인증 생태계 구축을 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 진주시가 역점 추진 중인 우주항공산업 활성화의 일환으로 항공·우주·방산 분야에서 세계적 수준의 소프트웨어 검증 및 인증 역량을 보유한 LDRA와의 협력을 통해 지역 기업의 인증 자립을 도모하고, 해외 시장 진출을 지원하기 위해서다.
협약식에는 조규일 진주시장과 이안 존 헤넬(Ian Jon Hennell) LDRA 대표가 참석했으며, 양측은 협약 체결 후 우주항공 분야에서의 협력 방안에 대해 논의했다.
이번협약에 따라 진주시와 LDRA는 우주항공용 소프트웨어·하드웨어 검증 및 인증지원, 전문 인력 양성과 일자리 창출, FAA 인증 대리인(DER)을 통한 기술 자문, 국내외 시장 개척 및 사업화 지원 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 추진할 계획이다.
LDRA는 지난 1975년 설립된 이후 Boeing, Airbus, NASA 등과 함께 다수의 글로벌 프로젝트를 수행한 바 있으며, 국내에서도 KF-21 전투기 개발에 자사 소프트웨어 검증 솔루션을 공급하는 등 활발한 활동을 이어오고 있다.
특히 진주에는 LDRA의 국내 공식 파트너사인 ㈜모아소프트의 경남지사가 경남진주혁신도시 복합혁신센터에 입주해 있어, 이번 협약이 지역 중심의 기술 협력 확대로 이어질 것으로 기대된다.
