(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) (재)인천서구문화재단이 21일부터 6월 15일까지 '문화공간 터.틀'에서 기획전시 '기억의 기록展 1 : 마을 사람들'을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
재단에 따르면, 주제(기억의 기록전)의 대상 공간은 인천 서구 문화의 거리이며, 기록의 대상은 석남동 거북시장에서 살아 온 시장 상인들이 간직해 온 소중한 삶의 기억들이다.
삶의 공간, 시간의 공간, 그 공간에서 생기고 지나간 시간과 기억들, 그 기억을 되짚어 예술로 기록하는 전시이다.
'문화공간 터.틀' 기획전시 ‘기억의 기록展’의 첫 번째 이야기인 ‘마을 사람들’은 석남동과 거북시장을 배경으로 살아온 사람들의 이야기를 두 작가의 시선으로 기록한다.
한윤정 작가는 거리의 간판에서, 임동현 작가는 일상의 사물과 과정을 통해 보통 사람들의 이야기를 꺼낸다.
전시는 단순한 시각적 경험을 넘어, ‘우리의 삶’을 마주 보게 하는 정서적 공감을 불러일으킨다.
간판이 불러낸 삶의 이야기 – 한윤정 작가
한윤정 작가는 음식과 간판을 통해 일상을 이야기한다.
작가에게 간판은 단순한 상업적 표식이 아니라, 세월을 견디며 마을을 지켜온 작은 생명의 빛이다.
2010년부터 시작된 간판 작업은 종로의 오래된 골목을 지나 제주도의 식당과 마을로 이어졌고, 최근에는 인천 서구 문화의 거리, 문화공간 터틀과 거북시장을 주제로 작업을 해 왔다.
이번 작품에서는 거북시장의 부흥기였던 시절의 모습 일부를 작품 속에 담아 문화의 거리가 문화와 예술로 다시 꽃피우기를 바라는 마음을 담았다.
과정을 존중하며 기록하는 예술 – 임동현 작가
임동현 작가의 작업은 일상 속 움직임과 생각, 사건과 감정의 축적이다.
삶에 밀착된 다양한 과정을 기록하고, 이를 바탕으로 형식적 실험과 미술적 표현을 시도한다.
우연히 마주친 사람들, 사물, 거리, 감정이 모두 작품의 일부가 된다.
작가는 2017년부터 인천 서구의 원도심인 석남동 사람들을 인터뷰하며 작품 속에 삶의 메시지를 기록해왔다.
사회가 주변부로 밀어낸 존재들, 이름 없이 사라진 이들, 이러한 과정에서 소외된 보통 사람들에 대한 존중과 연민의 정이 작업 전반에 따스하게 흐른다.

이번 전시는 우리가 기억해야 할 소중한 기억, 감정을 예술로 기록한다.
