(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 주최한 ‘2025 계양구청장배 국제양궁대회(Gyeyang Open)’가 지난 24일 계양아라온 수향원에서 열린 결승전을 끝으로 5일간의 열전을 성공적으로 마무리했다.
계양구는 기존 전국 대회 규모였던 ‘계양구청장배 양궁대회’를 올해부터 국제 대회로 확대했다.
대회의 슬로건은 ‘Aim Together, Fly Further 계양 2025’로, ‘함께 쏘고, 더 멀리 날다. 계양에서 세계 양궁의 미래가 시작됩니다’라는 메시지를 담고 있다.
이번 대회는 문화체육관광부 국제대회 공모사업에 선정된 아시아 최초의 국제 오픈대회로, 고등부․대학부․일반부를 통합한 올림픽 라운드 방식(70m 리커브)으로 진행됐다.
총 15개국에서 380명의 선수가 참가했으며, 5월 20일부터 24일까지 계양아시아드양궁장과 계양아라온 수향원 일원에서 경기를 펼쳤다.
23일과 24일 열린 준결승 및 결승 경기는 KBS와 KBS SPORTS 유튜브 채널을 통해 생중계돼 국내외 시청자들의 뜨거운 관심을 받았으며, 관중들의 열띤 응원과 선수들의 집중력 넘치는 경기가 어우러져 현장의 열기를 더했다.
