(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 26일, 도성훈 교육감이 지난 23일부터 25일까지 경상남도 김해시를 방문해 제54회 전국소년체육대회에 참가 중인 인천시 선수단을 격려했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 대회에 34개 종목, 총 765명의 학생 선수를 파견했으며, 대회는 5월 24일부터 27일까지 김해시 일원에서 진행된다.
지난 17일과 18일 사전경기로 열린 육상경기에서 부원여자중학교 3학년 한지혜 선수가 여중 800m에서 금메달을 획득하며 인천선수단에 첫 금메달 소식을 전했다.
25일 기준 인천은 금메달 18개, 은메달 21개, 동메달 26개를 획득했다.
특히, 인송중학교 3학년 김지광 선수는 남중부 역도 55kg급에서 3관왕에 오르며 두각을 나타냈다.
지난해 제53회 대회에서 총 103개의 메달을 획득한 인천선수단은 올해도 태권도, 복싱, 핸드볼, 농구, 배구 등에서 추가 메달을 기대하고 있다.
