(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 11일 대한출판문화협회와 독서 문화 진흥 및 읽걷쓰 문화 확산을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 협약에 따라 양 기관은 독서 인문 및 출판 문화 진흥 사업 협력, 출판 관련 연수와 작가 양성 교육 프로그램 교류, 읽걷쓰 시민문화 확산을 위한 공동 사업 등을 추진할 예정이다.
인천시교육청은 그동안 ‘읽걷쓰’ 정책을 바탕으로 학교 안팎에서 지속 가능한 독서 인문 환경을 조성해왔으며, 이번 협약으로 더욱 전문적이고 체계적인 지원이 가능해질 것으로 기대하고 있다.
도성훈 교육감은 “교육의 실천력이 출판계의 전문성과 만나, 책과 함께하는 인천교육이 한 단계 도약하는 계기가 되기를 바란다”며 “학생과 시민이 책과 함께 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 최근 ㈜그래디언트, 재단법인 카오스와 과학교육 및 과학 문화 확산을 위한 업무협약을 체결하고, 미래 과학 인재 양성을 위한 협력체계를 본격 구축한다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 앞으로 세 기관은 과학 문화 확산을 위한 공동 프로젝트 및 행사 운영, 과학교육 콘텐츠 및 프로그램 개발을 위한 정보·인적 교류와 교육, 홍보, 자문 등 각 기관의 자원과 역량을 활용한 상호 지원, 국내외 과학교육 및 과학 문화 확산을 위한 네트워크 구축 등에 상호 협력할 예정이다.
인천시교육청은 이번 협약을 계기로 학생들이 더욱 풍부한 과학교육 콘텐츠를 접하고, 과학에 대한 흥미와 진로 의식을 키우는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.
특히, 탐구의 즐거움을 기반으로 창의 융합형 인재를 양성하기 위한 다양한 프로그램과 체험활동이 교육적 시너지 효과를 낼 것으로 전망한다.
도성훈 교육감은 “과학과 지식 나눔을 실천해 온 두 기관과의 협력은 학생들이 삶 속에서 과학을 자연스럽게 배우고 즐기며, 자기 주도적으로 진로를 설계할 기회가 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 교사와 학생이 함께 성장할 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 지속해서 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
