함양 마천면 국궁장 ‘지덕정’ 준공

[브레이크뉴스=강동호 기자] 지리산 아래 함양군 마천면에 전통 무예 국궁을 계승하고 주민의 건강한 여가문화를 지원할 국궁장 ‘지덕정’이 새롭게 문을 열었다.

함양군은 11일 마천면 가흥리 104-5번지 일원에서 진병영 함양군수를 비롯한 김윤택 함양군의회 의장, 기관 단체장, 지역 주민 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 마천면 지덕정 준공식을 개최했다.

이날 준공식을 가진 마천면 지덕정은 2020년부터 총사업비 35억 원을 투입해 부지면적 1만 8,501㎡에 건축 연면적 392㎡의 지상 1층 규모로 조성됐다. 

과녁 3개와 사대 21개를 갖추었으며, 도로 및 주차장 등 기반 시설도 함께 마련돼 주민의 스포츠 여가 문화 증진 및 삶의 질 향상에 이바지할 것으로 기대된다.

국궁은 예로부터 육예(六藝) 중 하나로, 덕행을 기르고 심신을 단련하며, 국가 비상시를 대비하는 훈련 방법으로도 중요한 의미를 가졌다. 

오늘날에는 일반 시민들이 심신 단련과 건강 증진을 위한 생활 스포츠로 저변을 넓혀가고 있다.

진병영 함양군수는 “이번 마천 국궁장 준공으로 궁도 인구의 저변확대에 이바지할 것으로 기대한다”며 “지덕정이 단순히 새로운 스포츠 시설의 개장을 넘어 지역 사회의 화합과 건강한 여가 문화의 장이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
