인천시에 따르면, 물놀이장은 지난 6월 28일 남동구와 계양구를 시작으로, 7월 초에는 연수구, 부평구 등으로 순차 확대 개장되며, 시민들이 가까운 곳에서 무더위를 식힐 수 있는 공간으로 제공된다.
특히, 올해는 강화군 길상공원(온수리 82-9), 연수구 새싹공원(옥련동 238-1), 남동구 인천대공원(무네미로 238), 논현포대근린공원(논현동 648-1) 등 물놀이장 4곳이 추가로 조성돼 어린이들에게 더욱 다양한 물놀이 환경을 제공할 예정이다.
공원 관리청인 각 군·구청, 사업소는 물놀이장 수질 관리를 위해 주 1회 이상 수질검사와 정기적인 소독을 실시하고, 전 시설에 안전요원을 상시 배치해 안전하고 쾌적한 운영에 만전을 기할 계획이다.
