서산경찰서가 지난 15일 예천사거리에서 시민들의 안전 확보와 기초질서 확립을 위한 '5대 반칙운전 근절 캠페인'을 전개하며 적극적인 활동에 나섰다.
이번 캠페인은 서산경찰서 주관으로 시청, 녹색어머니회, 모범운전자회, 화물차공제조합, 서령버스, 개인택시운송협회 등 지역 내 다양한 유관기관 및 단체가 한마음으로 참여하여 교통안전 의식을 높이는 데 기여했다.
캠페인에 참여한 관계자들은 시민들과 사업용 운전자들을 대상으로 ▲새치기 불법유턴 ▲끼어들기 ▲꼬리물기 ▲비긴급 구급차 법규위반 ▲버스전용차로 위반 등 5가지 주요 반칙운전 행위의 위험성을 명확히 알렸다.
이들은 이러한 행위들이 도로 위에서 단순한 법규 위반을 넘어, 실제로는 교통 흐름을 방해하고 사고 위험을 높이며 시민들에게 큰 불편과 위협을 초래할 수 있음을 강조하며, 교통안전 홍보물품을 전달하고 법규 준수를 강력히 당부했다.
서산경찰서는 이번 캠페인을 시작으로 7월과 8월 두 달간을 5대 반칙운전에 대한 홍보 및 계도 기간으로 설정하고, 시민들의 자발적인 교통법규 준수를 유도할 방침이다.
9월부터 12월까지는 해당 위반 행위에 대한 집중 단속을 실시하여 더욱 엄정한 도로 교통 질서를 확립해 나갈 예정이다.
