지난 16일부터 17일까지 충남 홍성 일대를 강타한 집중호우로 갈산면의 한 축사가 침수되며 주민 3명이 고립되는 사고가 발생한 가운데, 홍성소방서(서장 강기원)가 보트를 이용한 신속한 대응으로 전원 구조에 성공했다.
17일 오전, 홍성군 갈산면에 위치한 축사가 인근 하천 범람으로 순식간에 물에 잠기면서, 축사 내부에 있던 주민들이 움직일 수 없는 상황에 처했다. 신고를 접수한 119구조대는 즉시 현장으로 출동했으며, 상황을 면밀히 판단한 뒤 구조용 보트를 투입해 급류를 뚫고 축사로 진입했다.
