대구 남구, 매니페스토 4회 연속 수상

【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구청(구청장 조재구)은 한국매니페스토실천본부가 주최하는 ‘2025 전국 기초단체장 매니페스토 우수사례 경진대회’에서 공동체 분야 우수상을 받으며 4회 연속 수상의 쾌거를 이뤘다.

이번 경진대회는 ‘회복력 도시, 인간다운 도시’를 주제로 경제, 불평등 완화, 인구구조 변화 대응, 안전, 기후 환경, 사회적 자본, 공동체 강화 등 7개 분야에서 우수 공약과 정책 사례를 발굴·공유·확산하는 자리다. 

전국 401개 사례가 응모했으며, 서류와 현장 심사를 거쳐 분야별 86개 우수사례가 최종 선정됐다.

남구는 공동체 강화 분야에 ‘미군부대와 관공서를 지역 대표 교육자원으로 활용’한 사례로 참가했다.

남구 내 미군부대의 장기 주둔으로 인한 지역 개발 제한과 교육 인프라 부족 문제를 영어캠프와 진로교육 공간으로 전환하고, 청소년 직업·진로체험 ‘구정체험학교’를 지역 관광명소 등과 연계해 지역 청소년 교육복지 실현에 기여한 점이 높은 평가를 받았다.

조재구 남구청장은 “4회 연속 수상은 단순한 성과를 넘어 지역사회에 실질적인 변화를 만든 결과”라며 “앞으로도 주민이 체감하는 행정을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Nam-gu Office (Mayor Cho Jae-gu) won the Excellence Award in the Community Category at the ‘2025 National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Competition’ hosted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters, achieving the feat of winning for the fourth consecutive time.

This competition is a place to discover, share, and spread excellent pledges and policy cases in seven fields, including economy, inequality reduction, population structure change response, safety, climate environment, social capital, and community strengthening, with the theme of ‘Resilient City, Humane City.’

401 cases nationwide applied, and 86 best cases were finally selected in each field after document and on-site review.

Nam-gu participated in the community strengthening field with a case of ‘Utilizing US military bases and government offices as regional representative educational resources.’

Nam-gu received high praise for transforming the problem of limited local development and lack of educational infrastructure due to the long-term stationing of US military bases in the district into an English camp and career education space, and for linking the youth job and career experience ‘Gujeong Experience School’ with local tourist attractions to contribute to the realization of educational welfare for local youth.

Nam-gu Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, “Winning four consecutive times is the result of creating real changes in the local community beyond mere achievements,” and added, “We will continue to strive for an administration that residents can feel.”
