충남도교육청(교육감 김지철)은 도내 특수교육대상 고등학생의 진로 설계 역량을 강화하고 대학 진학 의지를 높이기 위한 ‘2025 장애학생 대학생활체험 프로그램’을 지난 22일부터 25일까지 4일간 운영했다고 밝혔다.
이번 체험은 고등학교 3학년 특수교육대상학생 49명을 대상으로 진행됐으며, 나사렛대학교와 한경국립대학교가 참여해 실질적이고 체계적인 프로그램을 제공했다. 특히 두 대학은 장애학생의 다양한 요구에 맞춰 ‘심화체험형’과 ‘기본체험형’으로 프로그램을 구성해, 학생들이 자신에게 맞는 방식으로 진로 탐색에 몰입할 수 있도록 배려했다.
심화체험형 과정은 전공 수업 참여, 동아리 활동 체험, 실습실 탐방, 재학생 선배와의 만남, 모의면접, 개별 진로상담 등으로 구성되어, 대학 생활에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 도왔다. 기본체험형은 대학 입시제도 설명, 학과별 안내, 캠퍼스 투어, 개별 입학상담 등 입시 준비에 실질적인 도움이 되는 내용 중심으로 운영됐다.
교육청은 이번 프로그램을 통해 장애학생의 고등교육 접근성을 실질적으로 높이고, 향후 대학 진학 후의 적응력까지 고려한 지원체계를 마련하는 데 주력했다. 현장에서는 대학생 멘토가 학생들과 팀을 이루어 활동하며 자연스러운 소통과 동기 부여를 이끌었다.
정은영 충남교육청 초등특수교육과장은 “대학에 대한 정보 접근 기회가 부족한 장애학생들에게 실질적인 체험을 제공함으로써 대학 진학과 사회 통합 역량을 동시에 키울 수 있는 계기가 될 것”이라며, “참여 대학과 단위학교와의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 안전하고 내실 있는 프로그램이 되도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
한편 충남교육청은 특수학교와 대학 간 연계 모델을 지속적으로 발전시켜, 장애학생의 교육 기회 확대와 진로 역량 강화를 위한 정책적 기반을 다질 계획이다.
