세종충남대학교병원(원장 권계철)이 지난 22일부터 25일까지 ‘제6회 감염관리 주간행사’를 열고 의료환경 내 감염 예방과 인식 제고에 힘썼다.
이번 행사는 병원 내 감염 발생 가능성을 사전에 점검하고, 환자와 보호자, 의료진 모두에게 감염관리의 중요성을 체감할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램으로 구성됐다.
행사 첫날인 22일에는 감염관리 전담 의사와 함께 병동을 돌며 입원 환자들을 대상으로 ‘감염관리 OX 퀴즈’와 손씻기 교육 캠페인을 진행했다. 현장에서는 손위생의 필요성과 감염경로 차단에 대한 이해를 돕는 안내가 병행돼 참여자들의 높은 호응을 얻었다.
이튿날인 23일에는 병원 본관 지하 1층 식당 앞 공간에서 임직원을 위한 감염예방 체험 부스가 운영됐다. 스마트폰 표면의 세균 오염도를 직접 측정해보는 프로그램과 더불어 손씻기 시연, 감염예방 키트 만들기 등의 활동이 이뤄져 일상 속 감염 예방 실천의 중요성을 강조했다.

특히, 행사 마지막에는 ‘손위생 우수직원 시상식’이 열려 감염예방 활동에 적극 참여한 직원들을 격려했다. 철저한 손씻기를 실천한 병동 및 수술실 소속 직원 총 5명이 선정돼 포상을 받았다.
