시는 지난 3일부터 5일까지 3일간 울릉군 저동항 일원에서 열린 축제에 조현미 평생학습원장을 단장으로 하는 방문단을 파견했으며, 4일에는 행사장 내 홍보부스를 운영해 현장 방문객들의 이목을 끌었다.
포항시는 스페이스워크, 철길숲, 호미반도 해안둘레길 등 주요 관광 명소는 물론, 포항국제불빛축제, 해안둘레길 걷기축제 등 지역 특화 행사를 소개하며 포항의 관광 경쟁력을 널리 알렸다.
특히 여름 휴가철을 맞아 진행 중인 ‘고향사랑기부제 이벤트’ 홍보에 집중했다. 현장에서 직접 기부 참여 방법과 기부자 혜택을 상세히 안내하고, 포항 특산품을 증정하는 이벤트도 마련해 큰 호응을 얻었다. 또한, 포항시의 다양한 답례품도 현장에서 소개하며 기부제에 대한 관심도를 높였다.
이번 행사에는 재포울릉향우회 회원들도 동참해 축제 분위기를 북돋우고 포항 홍보에 힘을 보태며 양 지역 간 깊은 유대와 우정을 다시금 확인하는 자리가 됐다.
