【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환)는 지난 18일 오후 3시, 대학 믿음관 세미나실에서 ‘2025년 포항시 내일&내일(my job) 지원사업 요양보호사 양성과정’ 수료식을 열었다. 이번 행사에는 수료생 37명을 비롯해 조현미 포항시 평생학습원장이 참석했다.

이번 양성과정은 지난 7월부터 6주간 진행되었으며, 수료생들은 요양보호사 자격 취득에 필요한 이론 및 실기 교육을 마쳤다. 수료식에서는 전 과정 이수를 완료한 교육생들에게 수료증이 수여됐다.
요양보호사 양성과정은 고령화 사회에 대응하는 유망 자격으로 주목받고 있다. 포항시는 경력단절 여성과 일반 성인을 대상으로 직업능력 향상과 재취업 기회를 제공하기 위해 평생교육 프로그램의 일환으로 본 과정을 운영하고 있으며, 전문 인재 양성에 중점을 두고 있다.
곽진환 총장은 “이번 과정을 통해 지역사회에 꼭 필요한 맞춤형 일자리가 창출되고, 돌봄과 치료가 필요한 어르신들의 복지 증진에도 기여할 것”이라며 “남은 현장실습을 무사히 마치고 국가 자격시험에서도 좋은 성과를 거두길 바란다”고 말했다.
조현미 평생학습원장은 “수료는 끝이 아닌 새로운 출발점”이라며 “급격히 진행되는 초고령사회 속에서 여러분의 역할은 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 긍지와 자부심을 갖고 건강하고 행복한 지역사회 형성에 앞장서 주길 바란다”고 당부했다.

Sunlin University Holds Completion Ceremony for the "Pohang City Tomorrow & Tomorrow Support Project" Caregiver Training Course
Sunlin University (President Kwak Jin-hwan) held a graduation ceremony for the "2025 Pohang City Tomorrow & Tomorrow (My Job) Support Project Caregiver Training Course" at 3:00 PM on the 18th in the seminar room of the university's Faith Building. Thirty-seven graduates and Cho Hyun-mi, Director of the Pohang City Lifelong Learning Center, attended the event.
The training course, which began in July and lasted six weeks, completed the theoretical and practical training required to become certified as a caregiver. At the completion ceremony, certificates of completion were awarded to those who completed the entire course.
The caregiver training course is gaining attention as a promising qualification for responding to an aging society. Pohang City operates this course as part of its lifelong education program to provide job skills enhancement and reemployment opportunities for women and adults on career breaks, focusing on developing specialized talent.
President Kwak Jin-hwan said, "This program will create much-needed customized jobs in the local community and contribute to the welfare of seniors in need of care and treatment." He added, "I hope you successfully complete your remaining field training and achieve excellent results on the national certification exam."
Director Cho Hyun-mi of the Lifelong Learning Center said, "Completion is not the end, but a new beginning. In this rapidly aging society, your roles are becoming increasingly important. I urge you to take the lead in creating a healthy and happy community with pride and self-esteem."
