【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청이 한글 해득에 어려움을 겪는 초등학교 저학년 학생들을 위해 여름방학 기간 ‘한글 발돋움 교실’을 운영하고 있다고 20일 밝혔다.
프로그램은 지난 7월부터 오는 29일까지 95개 초등학교에서 1~2학년 학생 265명을 대상으로 진행된다.
한글을 제대로 익히지 못해 학습에 어려움이 예상되는 학생들에게 맞춤형 지도를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
수업은 학생이 다니는 학교 교실에서 담임교사와 외부강사가 주 2~3회, 1대1 방식으로 집중 지도를 진행한다.
사전 진단을 통해 개별 수준을 파악한 뒤, 대구시교육청이 개발한 ‘또박또박 한글교실’, ‘대구 문해력 똑똑 읽기 첫 걸음’, ‘어휘싹’ 등 학습 자료를 활용해 효과적인 문해력 향상을 돕는다.
대구초 전익진 교사는 “난독이나 한글 미해득 학생에게 개별지도가 절실하다”며 “방학 중 맞춤형 지도가 학생들의 기초학력 향상에 실질적인 도움이 되고 있다”고 말했다.
강은희 교육감은 “방학에도 학생들을 위해 헌신해 주신 교사와 강사분들께 감사드린다”며 “초등 저학년 시기에 책임 있는 한글 교육과 초기 문해력 지원을 강화해 학생들이 자신감을 가지고 학습에 임할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Superintendent Kang Eun-hee stated, "I'd like to thank the teachers and instructors who have dedicated themselves to our students even during the vacation period. We will strengthen responsible Hangul education and early literacy support in the early elementary grades to help students confidently approach their studies."
